Introduction

Dr. Ashley Itzhakian a licensed clinical psychologist and the owner and creator of A Guided Path, Mental Health and Wellness Center. To learn more about A Guided Path, please visit www.AGuidedPath.org. Dr. Ashley specializes in working with adolescents, adults, and families through psychotherapy, parenting consultations, and comprehensive psychological evaluations. She is committed to empowering and supporting her clients and families in living intentional and relational lives. Grounded in Interpersonal Neurobiology and Attachment Theory, she values neurodiversity and focuses on understanding each person’s individual differences, areas of strength and need, and ways to use relational support to improve overall functioning. Dr. Ashley is passionate about helping others become "cycle breakers" and move from a reactive response, to an intentional and reflective response, in their individual lives, and within the relationships they are in. As a parent, Dr. Ashley understands the sense of helplessness one can feel when watching a child struggle. She partners with families to empower them to uncover and understand these challenges through parenting consultations and comprehensive psychological evaluations. Dr. Ashley helps transform the client’s view of themselves, by uncovering their unique strengths and finding ways to support them in their academic, emotional, and relational functioning. Throughout the process of a comprehensive psychological evaluation, Dr. Ashley utilizes a holistic, collaborative approach to partner with the client, family, school, and other professionals to best understand the client’s functioning. Dr. Ashley develops specific recommendations to support and empower the client and family. In addition to parenting support and psychological evaluations, Dr. Ashley provides therapy to teens and adults. Overall, Dr. Ashley's approach is collaborative, empathic, warm, nurturing, and empowering. She feels confident that through the therapeutic relationship she creates her clients and families experience a felt sense of being seen, known, and supported.
