Hi there, my name is Ashley Carter. I received my a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. I specialize in working with children ages 4+ to adults. However, I have experience in and enjoy working with clients of all ages. My areas of focus include PTSD and trauma, mood disorders, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, behavioral and/or developmental concerns, and addictive behaviors. My approach to counseling incorporates person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and narrative therapy. I believe that storytelling can promote healing through exploration, reflection, and ‘re-authoring’. When working with children, I incorporate components of play therapy and art therapy. As your therapist, you or your child can expect a safe and judgement-free space for your thoughts and concerns to be heard and validated. Together, we will explore and identify appropriate treatment goals and interventions that are tailored to meet you or your child’s individual needs.
