I enjoy being a therapist, an approved supervisor and a presenter. I bring all of me into my work. I am present, direct and transparent. My consistent goal in each session is to help you BUILD YOUR TOOLBOX with creative multi-sensory techniques, so that you can create impact and change in your relationships. I can help you heal your wounds and be more present, authentic and connected in ALL of your relationships, including the relationship with yourself! Which........ is THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE. As we become more aware of how we operate, the roles we bring from our childhood, the patterns we witnessed from our parents and the defense mechanisms and scripts we created to adapt and cope with our early life, and reprocess these wounds, the more mindfully we impact all of our relationships. I call it the 3-D approach to counseling, which is an active, multi- sensory approach incorporating talking, visual props, and kinesthetic (doing and experiencing) aspects of learning and change. I strive to engage your eyes, ears, body and brain. Yes this visual aspect is used in telehealth sessions too. I often assign tasks between sessions to begin the process of practicing what you learn in sessions, such as reading a relevant book, watching videos or keeping records to track certain behaviors. Often you will have a visual picture from the session to get you to think from a different perspective. Learning and change takes practice so it is important to process what has been discussed and integrate it into your daily life. For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions. This 3-D approach allows therapy to be a more active, interesting, motivational and rewarding journey for BOTH you and me. I enjoy and value the work we do together to rewrite the narrative of your stories and witness your growth.
