Jonathan Murray is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has been practicing since 2019. Jonathan's approach to therapy is one of collaboration. He provides context, perspectives, and education to clients, so they feel empowered to make the best decisions for themselves. Jonathan views the therapeutic relationship, between the clinician and client, as the foundation of therapeutic success, regardless of treatment approach or modality. The therapeutic path is a partnership between client and clinician that is walked together; it is a path of support and understanding and free of judgment. Jonathan takes a client-centered cognitive behavioral therapeutic (CBT) approach with his clients. He emphasizes the identification of cognitive distortions (irrational thought patterns) that we all engage in and explore how clients can challenge and change these thought patterns that cause difficulties in functioning.
