AJ Spatz is a Licensed Associate Counselor who completed his Master’s of Arts in Counseling at Phoenix Seminary. He graduated from Grand Canyon University with his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. During his Master’s coursework, AJ gained experience offering volunteer counseling services to the community through a local church Lay Counseling program. AJ has also completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) among other modalities. AJ, born and raised in Arizona, enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with his wife, and the two especially enjoy traveling, though their two dogs cannot always accompany them. He describes his time at Phoenix Seminary as a time in which others came alongside him to encourage personal growth and development of character. He views counseling others as a way to transition from receiving care and support to blessing and encouraging others in their personal development. Raised in a Christian home, AJ became a Christian at a young age and has participated in several areas of ministry with children, students, and adults. Biblical integration and a comprehensive bottom-up approach to target root issues are important to him in the counseling process. He is working under the direct supervision of Chloe Cooper, LISAC, LPC, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. AJ works out of the Surprise Office and is available for Telehealth appointments as well. He can be reached by phone at (480) 582-9542 and by email at aj@christiancounselingservicesaz.com.
