My counseling style is client-centered, systemic and neuroscience-informed. There also seems to be a lot of laughter involved. Because I view difficulties as typically being a result of many interacting factors, rather than a problem residing in only one person, in my treatment I include information about the development and function of the brain and body, as well as family and societal systems. This information can help clients better understand their own experiences and more effectively care for themselves in a compassionate way. It is of the utmost importance to me that clients feel cared for, viewed positively, respected, and understood. I enjoy working with diverse populations – clients of differing cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and with various experiences of their sexuality and gender. I strive to ensure that my therapy room is a safe space for people to become, be, and learn to love their authentic selves.
