WELCOME! I'm Ari (pronounced Air-ee). Thank you for your interest in my practice. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist, I am dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges with empathy and understanding. I take a collaborative approach that is grounded in a curious and compassionate inquiry into the patterns that no longer serve you. I help individuals and couples work through these obstacles in an environment of trust and safety. APPROACH In our work together, you'll have the space to process your experiences, and you can expect me to be active, engaged, and to provide you with direct and honest feedback. I work from a psychodynamic perspective and integrate a holistic range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions. These enable me to tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs and goals. Some key elements of my approach include: • Building a Strong Therapeutic Relationship: Our relationship is the foundation of the work we do together. It's important that you feel safe and supported, so you can explore personal issues that may be difficult to address elsewhere. • Deepening Self-Awareness: Gaining a deeper insight into yourself is a powerful step towards improving your relationships and overall well-being. • Identifying Existing Resources: You already have personal and emotional resources in your life that can support the changes you want to make. My goal is to help you tap into these strengths to create realistic, positive, lasting transformation. • Creating Concrete, Actionable Change: We’ll work together to identify specific, actionable steps you can take to address the challenges you're facing, bringing you closer to the life you want to live. TREATMENT AREAS Some areas I specialize in include: • Depression and Mood Disorders • Personal Growth and Self-Development • Anxiety • Romantic Relationship Concerns • Social Relationship Challenges • Trauma • Career and School Challenges • Parenting and Motherhood Stress ABOUT ME I hold a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas School of Social Work and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#41191) in Texas. In 2008, after working and gaining extensive clinical experience at The University of Texas Counseling and Mental Health Center, I transitioned to full time private practice, where I continue to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, expertise, and a healthy dose of humor. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent 11 years in New York City working in media, marketing, and sales. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT • To ensure that I provide the most effective and current treatment for my clients, I regularly participate in a consultation group with fellow psychotherapists. • This collaborative space allows me to refine my skills, gain new perspectives, and stay engaged with the latest research and best practices in the field. • In addition, I engage in ongoing professional development, which helps me stay up-to-date on relevant topics and emerging trends in psychotherapy. PERSONAL I’m deeply committed to helping my clients understand their inner worlds, recognize their strengths, and ultimately create a life that feels fulfilling and authentic. My own experience as a mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend has given me a deep appreciation for the intricacies of human connection, and I bring this to every session with my clients. When I am not working, I love to travel, eat good food, workout, go hiking, do yoga, read, listen to music, spend time with family, friends, and my dog. LET'S CONNECT! Please reach out-- I am happy to answer any questions or chat on the phone to see if I might be a good fit for you. Thanks!
