Introduction

I strive to use my expertise in order to create a comfortable and safe environment for you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In order to be flexible with the changing times, I completed a certification in Telemental Health which allows me to give you the option of performing psychotherapy via videoconferencing while respecting your privacy rights. I use an eclectic approach in my work recognizing that each client is unique. I believe in working with clients to help them discover and strengthen the resources they have within themselves to walk towards wholeness and healing. I incorporate concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, also utilizing expressive arts techniques. My approach is insight-oriented with the goal of assisting my clients towards resolving the current conflict in their life. I treat depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, suicidal ideation, life transitions, trauma, relationships and grief and loss. I have experience working with individuals of all ages in both clinical and crisis settings. I feel that my experience is unique because I have spent years working for a mental health crisis team, which has allowed me to gain extensive knowledge and expertise in risk assessment and determining the appropriate level of care for patients in crisis. I have a passion for working with Law Enforcement and First Responders. I believe personal growth and change happens when the counseling process is focused, purposeful and intentional. I want to assist people in understanding their problems, defining goals, and developing realistic action plans. It would be an honor to work with you. My counseling services have helped countless people get through stressful challenges by questioning negative thoughts and understanding the source of specific behaviors and emotional patterns. With the right tools and a better approach to situations, I guarantee a better outlook on any issues that life brings your way.
