With over seventeen years of experience in a variety of settings ranging from non-for-profit, youth alternative day treatment programs to residential settings, I come with a plethora of knowledge and experience to aid clients during their most difficult times. In the last twelve years I've worked solely in private practice with adolescents, adults and elderly. As I have grown in my profession, so have my interests and specialties. I primarily work with young adults, adults, and elderly as they navigate many changes, challenges and transitions in life. Over the years, I’ve helped guide individuals who struggled with behavior problems, grief, depression, anxiety and other life concerns such as parenting and relationship issues. I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure to aid clients as they navigated experiences and expectations they did not foresee coming in many areas of life. My therapeutic approach tends to be eclectic by nature with foundations in Adlerian Psychology and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. However, with growing awareness and passion regarding the benefits of health, nutrition, and fitness on mental health, I’ve enjoyed incorporating such knowledge into my therapeutic approach for those who are interested. Most importantly, my aim is to meet my clients where their needs are and together we will navigate the therapeutic road. I bring the human side of myself to the therapeutic process to aid clients in their most desperate times. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients become their best self by learning how their past affects their present and how to use tools in their present to improve their future. Life is challenging, but you don’t have to let it stop you from living your best life; thus, the motto "healing the hurt from within." With regards to my educational path, I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Manchester College (now Manchester University) in May of 2005 and my Master's of Art in Counseling Psychology from Adler School of Professional Psychology (now Adler University) in October of 2007. I became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in December of 2011. Currently, I am a member of Indiana Counseling Association as well as American Counseling Association. I take Continuing Education Credits requirements seriously and enjoy focusing them on coping strategies, health, nutrition and other areas my clients might need.
