Annie Vollman Mize is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who loves working with children (4-10 years old), parents, older teens and young adults. She specializes in Anxiety, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), Highly Sensitive Persons. In addition, many of the children and teens Annie works with are navigating perfectionism, people pleasing, frequent big/overwhelming feelings, and/or low esteem. Annie has a background in Narrative Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, which takes into consideration an individuals' traumatic experiences as well as their neurobiological functioning. These approaches allow Annie to take a more holistic look at the young person and family’s lived experiences to better inform her therapeutic approach. Annie is also informed by relational, gentle parenting approaches that prioritize the parent-child connection and make space for parents to create a stronger emotional bond with their child. In addition to the aforementioned, Annie utilizes imaginative play, art, movement and therapeutic games in her work with children. Annie is very interested in seeing those she works with through the lens of their full life experiences, emphasizing their skills and strengths while exploring the tough stuff.
