Introduction

Annie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and French Language from Bucknell University and her master’s of social work from the University of Denver. Annie considers it a great privilege to join with others on their healing journeys, and is grateful for the opportunity to bear witness to our remarkable capacity for resiliency, growth, and change. Annie’s clinical specialties include self-esteem, life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief/loss, to name a few. She approaches this work as a human first, serving as a mirror and guide for clients, operating from the firm belief that we are the experts of our own lives. Her therapeutic style is client-centered, strengths-based, and empowering, and she strives to help clients reconnect with their innate wisdom and capacity to heal. Unconditional positive regard is foundational to her approach, as is radical acceptance and self-compassion. Annie draws from a multitude of practices, including but not limited to: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Inner Child Work, Mindfulness/Meditation, Attachment Theory, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She has completed her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training and brings awareness to the mind-body-spirit connection and nervous system, particularly when working with trauma. As a social worker, Annie is trained in the person-in-environment perspective, and takes into account the many ways in which we are intimately connected to, and affected by, the world that surrounds us. Annie works primarily with adults. She is especially passionate about supporting young adults ages 18-25 as they navigate the transition to adulthood.
