My name is Anne Schwab, founder and owner of Schwab Counseling, LLC. I know first hand that starting a therapeutic journey can be scary. Change is hard, and often daunting, but staying stuck in your pain is worse. I'm here to help. I didn't always know I wanted to be a therapist. I went through college thinking I would go into business and ended up with a degree in Economics. I worked in the corporate world for a few years and decided it wasn't for me. During that time, however, I was volunteering at a counseling center that helped families who were experiencing conflict, divorce, and abuse. I was a monitor for supervised visitations and found my passion for helping people through some of the worst moments in their lives. I have spent the majority of my career as a therapist working with adolescents in residential treatment and their families. Now, I'm broadening my scope of practice to the community at large. I strive to ensure that therapy is a safe space for clients to explore themselves through their struggles and emotions. Emotions can be intense at times, but they are an essential part of what makes us human. I specialize in the treatment of mental health issues and interpersonal relationship distress. I take a holistic approach to treatment in that I look at the client from all aspects of their life to help them set goals, build their toolbox for healthier functioning, and grow as a person. I teach you the how, then you take those tools and build your life!
