Introduction

I enjoy working with people who are hesitant about the counseling process, strongly desire change, and/or have a deep need to be seen and heard. I have experience working with people ages 11 through 80. I enjoy helping grade school students organize and strategize for a better school experience. I enjoy the process of self-discovery and differentiation that young adults go through in their 18-30s. I also enjoy the process of rediscovering identity when all your roles change because of marriage, divorce, death, employment, and retirement. Counseling couples, families, or friends together is a dynamic process that depends on every person present being invested in growth and change. Change is always hard and growth is rarely comfortable. I hope to provide support and structure that will assist with healing and repairing struggling relationships. I consider counseling a collaborative process of reflection and healing. We all go through difficult challenges and painful experiences. Having someone to process life with can help you find a different perspective that can lead to change and hopefully greater life satisfaction. I strongly believe all people are worthy of care and also that it’s important for a counselor to be a good fit for their client. A good fit in the counseling relationship includes trust, respect, compatibility, and capability.
