Anna Murphy, LMHC has graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Studio Arts, and Sociology. She then graduated from The College of New Rochelle with a Master of Science in Art Therapy and Counseling and went on to obtain her Licensed Mental Health Counselor license in Iowa. She has continued to further her education with notable training in EMDR, DBT, Sand Tray Therapy, Substance Use, and the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Anna has spent her career doing therapy in a clinical setting, a crisis center, and has worked with Juvenile Court Services. Anna has 10+ years of experience in the mental health field. Anna has had experience working with a wide variety of populations and ages, ranging from three years old through geriatric. Though all that will be accepted at this time is 12 and up due to having only telehealth sessions available at this time. Anna has knowledge and background in working with Depression, Anxiety, Abuse, Trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Life Transitions, LGBTQIA*, Self-esteem, anger, etc. Anna believes in a holistic approach to healing. Healing starts with a therapeutic alliance or connection to another who can empathize with the experience of being human. Anna is dedicated to helping individuals achieve mental well-being through a comprehensive approach that integrates mind, body, and spirit. Believing in the power of holistic healing, Anna combines traditional therapeutic techniques such as mindfulness. She is passionate about address the root causes of mental health issues and empowering her clients to cultivate a balanced and fulfilling life. Anna’s compassionate and empathetic approach creates a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard and understood. She tailors her therapeutic methods to meet the unique needs of each individual, fostering personal growth and transformation. Anna Murphy is committed to guiding her clients on their journey to mental and emotional well-being, helping them achieve harmony and balance in all aspects of their life. Ideal client will be someone 12+ who has BCBS insurance or is private pay. Someone who is willing to sit in the uncomfortable and willing to make the necessary changes to transform his or her life.
