Introduction

Life can be difficult and frustrating but I am adamant that finding a safe and affirming space in therapy shouldn’t be. Because of this, I strive to celebrate individuals’ identities and help them cultivate hope and meaning in their life. I use a collaborative and strengths-based approach to empower clients facing adversities and want to overcome challenges toward a life they desire. I particularly enjoy providing a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their feelings and honor their truth to welcome growth. When working with me, clients can expect to be met with compassion, empowerment, and humor. My past experience includes working with clients experiencing anger, anxiety, inter-partner violence, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I embrace and value diversity in clients and demonstrate this through a trauma-informed, intersectional, & systems lens. I am passionate about assisting all communities and have a vast experience working with BIPOC folx and the LGBTQIA+ community in particular. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindful approaches, individualizing my work based on the client’s story and goals. I am looking forward to partnering with you soon! https://www.thirdeye-chicago.com/angelica-marrufo-lcpc
