Angela Willits, LCSW, is dedicated to providing evidence-based psychotherapy that is identity-affirming and empowers individuals to overcome emotional struggles. Angela obtained her master's degree in social work from Simmons University in Boston, MA, in 2005. She gained extensive experience as a PTSD therapist for Veterans at the Madison VA Hospital for before joining the faculty at the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work, where she continues to teach and work as an administrator. Angela is well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing therapy and Seeking Safety. She also provides clinical supervision to post-MSW clinicians seeking clinical licensure. Creating a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment is at the heart of Angela's therapeutic philosophy. She is committed to establishing a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to embark on their unique healing journeys. Angela recognizes the importance of anti-oppressive practice, acknowledging that individuals' mental health is influenced by social, cultural, and historical contexts. By understanding these factors, she collaboratively explores their impact with clients and tailors therapy to honor their experiences.
