Angela Sanchez is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is supervised by Angela M. Byrd, LPC-S. Angela Sanchez specializes in working with individuals with anxiety, depression, and trauma; she also helps with parenting, child and adolescent behavior problems, and individuals of all ages with special needs. She focuses her clinical expertise by helping clients gain mental health tools that promote purpose and meaning in life. Angela utilizes various counseling approaches based on each client’s needs, and goals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. Angela Sanchez is professionally experienced in working with children with autism by using principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) through reinforcements and prompting to teach children adaptive behaviors in specific developmental areas such as language, socialization, play, self-help, and motor skills. She is currently using her skills as a Behavioral Health Assistant for the Denton State Supported Living Center to help implement treatment plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Angela received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southwestern Assemblies of God University. Angela's desire is for every client to feel safe and free of judgment.
