Hello, I'm Angela, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years of experience in the mental health and counseling field. My journey in this profession is deeply rooted in my academic background, which includes a Doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Radford University, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hampton University. Each step of my educational path has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you on your mental wellness journey. I specialize in a variety of areas including anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, military and veteran support, multicultural and diversity issues, PTSD, spirituality, stress, and trauma. My clinical interests extend to the mind-body connection, culture and identity development, family dynamics, mood disorders, transgender and non-binary affirming healthcare access, life transitions, crisis intervention, trauma, and abuse. As a woman of faith and a minister, I draw inspiration from the scripture: "I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well" (Psalm 139:14). This belief in the inherent worth and beauty of each individual guides my approach to therapy. I also cherish the anonymous quote: "If you are more fortunate than others, build a longer table and not a taller fence." This sentiment reflects my commitment to inclusivity and support for all who seek help. My goal is to create a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards healing and growth. If you feel that I might be the right fit for you, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am looking forward to working with you and supporting you on your path to mental wellness.
