I help clients gain awareness of their emotions and unhelpful behaviors that often result in isolation and disconnection. I believe that together we can learn how to approach any discomfort with emotions in a present-focused and non-judgmental manner in order to fuel connection and compassion. I have experience in treating individuals with eating disorders, body image issues, addictions and co-occurring diagnoses such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. To me, the therapeutic relationship is central in helping clients to trust the process; I offer a non-judgmental environment that helps clients to feel supported and empowered. I use a combination of theoretical orientations including relational cultural therapy and evidence-based approaches such as the Unified Protocol (an exposure-based therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) for families and supports. In my practice, I take a warm and collaborative approach with my clients and with all members of my client's team (dietitian, psychiatrist, etc.). My trauma-informed goal is to create a safe and confidential environment to facilitate building healthier relationships with yourself, others, food, and your body.
