My approach is client and family centered, focusing on helping family members adapt to new patterns that encourage better communication, problem-solving, and improve connections. My specialties are in the areas of child and adult transitions, parenting, relationship challenges and clinical issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience and expertise working with children, families and adults struggling with serious mental illness, including bi-polar & psychotic disorders. My past experiences provide me with the capability to navigate and work with complex systems such as school IEP's, 504 plans and children and families involved in the child welfare and foster care system. My intensive clinical training and therapeutic skills help many people navigate through life's inherent up and downs, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Coping Skills Development with a Solution-Focused approach. I have years of experience in treating and diagnosing children and adolescents with behavioral struggles both as a clinical therapist and a Senior Director over seeing programs for the Office of Mental Health, Addiction and School Based Services. Qualified to provide clinical supervision to LMSW and LMHC. Well versed and knowledgeable in NYS office of professions guidelines regarding clinical supervision and requirements for licensure.
