Many people want to get to know their therapist a bit before committing to a relationship. I think that's pretty normal, especially for people who experience a lot of anxiety. I've been a Master of Social Work for over 10 years now. I've worked in mental health basically the entire time. I've worked in every level of care, inpatient to outpatient. No diagnosis scares me, and I've really seen just about everything there is to see. I specialize in CBT and Exposure Therapy (ERP). I'm also quite skilled with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), and Motivational Interviewing. I taught at Loyola University Chicago's satellite location here in Wisconsin as an adjunct professor teaching the above therapies to the next generation of therapists, and have presented at professional conferences on ethics & technology. It seems like some people look for information about me personally. For these folks, I'd mention that I'm a father of two, and have been married for 10+ years. Like most people, I've struggled with my own issues, as have some members of my family. However, through hard work and development of skills, I've learned to deal with these things, and so can you. I love video games, gardening, cooking, woodworking, and talking about philosophy and life more broadly. I've always been a bit of a geek. And yes, of course I made this web-page myself. Whatever it is you're looking for, I'm interested in getting to know you more. I love getting to know people and helping them to work through problems. This is why I chose my profession. Why not reach out and let me know what questions you have? I'd be happy to answer them.
