Introduction

Are you feeling hampered in making the personal growth you know, deep down, that you deserve? Do you have an uneasy sense that something is obstructing a clear view of your future, but you can’t quite put your finger on it? Are you feeling disconnected from people who used to fill your life with joy and excitement? Therapy can give you a safe space to explore yourself and begin to address existential questions like these. Engaging in therapy means above all committing to yourself and your own growth. As a therapist, I believe that staying present with you, in dialogue, holds the power to restore balance and to achieve a greater sense of wholeness. We experience our lives more fully and tune in to the abundance that we are. I partner with you to identify repeated sources of disappointment or dissatisfaction so that you can grow away from them and into a more vibrant relation to yourself, others, and the world. In my practice, I use dialogue, awareness, and careful attention to your embodied expressions of who you are in the moment. I am a warm, intelligent, and engaging psychotherapist who treats patients with a wide range of concerns. Many of my most recent patients seek me out to work on trauma, anxiety, or depression. Many others come wanting to talk through challenges in relationships or seeking greater clarity about their sexuality or gender identity. I have also enjoyed success supporting patients as they clarify or deepen their spiritual lives. My patients come from a range of diverse backgrounds. My approach is primarily psychodynamic, with an emphasis on engaged dialogue in the present. Focusing on mitigating symptoms is a helpful first step for therapy. For longer-lasting change that leads to meaningful growth I find it vital to work at deeper levels of personality so as to effect change at the sources of blockages that stall personal growth. Psychodynamic work gives us this range of possibilities. The focus on dialogue keeps each session collaborative and draws on the healing power of being present together. As we talk, I attune to you as a whole person—your verbal expression, affect, posture, gestures, life-experiences, and way of being in the world—so I can meet you with a highly personalized approach to therapeutic treatment. I am a psychoanalyst licensed in New York and New Jersey. I am also a certified Gestalt therapist, having completed a five-year post-graduate Clinical Fellowship in psychoanalysis and contemporary relational Gestalt therapy at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy. In addition, I am certified in mindfulness-based meditation and interventions, and have extensive training in somatic psychotherapy. Committing to yourself and your own growth takes time. I work most effectively with people who are willing to put in the time needed for deep and enduring growth. Please submit all paperwork at least 24 hours before our session. Unfortunately, due to the COVID crisis, I am only seeing clients remotely at present. Call now for a free consultation: 732-630-6920.
