Addiction is a specific thing. The thinking - the consequences - the depression and anxiety tied to the guilt and shame. The hiding and secrets. It can also be terrifying to live without the very thing that kept you going all this time and “worked until it didn’t.” A neverending hamster wheel. Or maybe you’re not using as much or at all, but you want to talk with someone who understands addiction and can help you with a particular issue you're currently experiencing. “Recovery” has presented new challenges. Either way - you’re in the right place. I welcome you, actively using or not, regardless of where you're starting. I offer specialized practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Credentialed Alcohol Substance Abuse Counselor. I graduated from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, earning my Master of Science and Social Work degree with a concentration on Substance Use Disorder from Columbia University. I have over a decade of experience as a group facilitator, individual therapist, case manager, and supervisor to graduate-level interns entering the field. My love is witnessing people reach beyond what they may have thought possible, and it is very personal to the individual. There are many options to recover, but having a safe space in the world to speak freely is vital. You are the expert on you, and to be supported in harnessing your motivation is to find your direction. Identifying and achieving your goals is the pathway to self-actualization. Options are good too. My approach is simple: listen with patience, curiosity, dignity, and respect, and the work reveals itself. I love the conversations in a relatable, easy-going, engaging style backed by years of experience and an eclectic, individualized toolbox. Relax and let loose a bit - vent, laugh, cry - be where you are - it's ok. The space is ours to keep. Over the years, I have cultivated a rich referral base for appropriate ancillary services ranging from Inpatient Detox to Rehab to Group Therapy to Psychiatric Addiction Medicine. Join me, and let's get started together. I can speak via Zoom, phone, or email if you have further questions. Call or text 646-504-6212 for a free 15-minute consultation. I can submit to your insurance company on your behalf for out-of-network reimbursement.
