I work with individuals who find themselves facing life challenges such as anxiety, family difficulties, or addressing past traumas. They often need some help sorting through their memories of the past, views in the present, or plans for the future. Therapy gives individuals a chance to process through any issues that might have come up in their week, but it also helps one organize the memories of the past in such a way that it helps them understand the present to be prepared for the future. I have gravitated toward individuals who are experiencing anxiety, social concerns regarding school, or those who have experienced significant trauma in their pasts. I have worked in the following settings: community, school, church, & group. I have focused on trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and person-centered therapy. Starting therapy can seem a bit daunting, but it does not have to be difficult.
