Hello! My name is Amy and I'm so glad you're here. Curiosity is an authentic and beautiful first step toward hope and healing and I'm extremely honored to be considered as a fellow sojourner. As you move forward in your journey, my personal hope for you is connection to a QUALIFIED and CARING therapist who will walk alongside you to encourage, challenge, and celebrate you in every step. So take a deep breath and know you are deeply valued. **Supporting Teens, Young Adults, and Their Parents** I specialize in working with older teens, young adults, and their parents during this transformative stage of life. As a mother and former teenager, I know this season of life is filled with excitement and uncertainty, as young people navigate relationships, independence, and their future. It can feel overwhelming, but research consistently shows that having one caring adult can make a significant difference in mental health and self-esteem. My goal is to provide that support, helping teens and young adults build confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections as they move toward independence. **Education, Training, and Approach** I hold a BAS in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and an MS in Licensed Professional Counseling from Mid-America Christian University. Following my education, I completed the Texas state-required 3,000-hour supervised internship in both nonprofit and private practice settings. During this time, I honed my skills in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and more. Now in private practice, I specialize in adolescent and young adult mental health, offering trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and faith-based counseling upon request. I am committed to staying current with evidence-based, clinically proven approaches through ongoing training and certifications. My most recent professional development includes basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA, as well as certification in the Flash Technique, an innovative, evidence-based intervention that complements EMDR in reducing distress from traumatic memories. Rooted in a biblical, Christian worldview, I integrate faith-based counseling for those who seek it, ensuring that each client receives compassionate, personalized care. “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard Amy Glover, MS, LPC is a member in good standing with the American Association of Christian Counselors **Scheduling** Current clients may log into the client portal for schedule management. **INSURANCE** Please note, as of April 1, 2025 I will be considered out of network for Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna. I will remain in network with Aetna and United Health Care.
