I’m Amanda Thompson, a seasoned clinical social worker. I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort between the therapist and client. I’m empathetic, nonjudgmental, and trust worthy. My practice is evidenced based and client centered. I individualize my approaches to fit your needs. I am here to support your growth. My current practice has been shaped by my time working inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and medical case management. I performed assessments for psychiatric admission in emergency rooms and on medical units. I've worked with individuals hospitalized for medical and/or psychiatric treatment and held group and individual therapy sessions. I've been in the Social Work field since 2006 and Psychiatry since 2010. The combined experience of medical social work and psychiatry has led to my specialties including medical trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. I also have training and experience in caregiver stress and relationship issues. I can confidently offer support for navigating painful experiences and difficult decisions, no matter what those might be. As a therapist, I offer an approach filled with warmth, empathy, humor, and gentle directness. This environment provides a safe space for you to explore your emotions and challenges, including those you've never voiced before. I am here to meet you where you are, offering compassionate care as we navigate your emotions and experiences together. Are you dealing with overwhelming stress in your life? Are you struggling to cope with chronic health conditions? Are symptoms related to depression, anxiety, or PTSD difficult to handle alone? There is opportunity to feel relief from your stressors and symptoms. Come learn to set boundaries, practice self care, evaluate your own thoughts and feelings, and feel better about yourself. We all have the ability to learn tools that can help us to cope with life’s challenges. I own Reflection Mental Health Therapy.
