I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in Georgia with over 5 years of experience working as a substance abuse and mental health counselor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, bi-polar disorder, substance abuse, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD. I have helped many people who have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, and/or emotional abuse, as well as trauma-related symptomology. My approach to counseling is to always build a rapport with my clients by being genuine, authentic, and validating their feelings. While I will mostly meet my client at where they are currently at, there will be times when I will be more direct. With that being said, I will always treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I use multiple approaches to include cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and person-centered counseling. I will individualize treatment to accommodate my client’s needs. It is always my goal to make sure my clients feel they have a safe space to vent their frustrations, to express their fears and concerns, and to discuss their future hopes and dreams. I make it a priority for my clients to understand that their feelings are always valid. My role to my clients is to be a sounding board, to help them see things from different perspectives, to help them identify, navigate, and understand their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. If any irrational thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are identified then we will work collectively to challenge them and compare them with reality while developing new ways of thinking and different perceptions. Counseling is very personal and can be very raw, but it can also be beautiful and life changing. Whether you just need someone to listen to you or help you to change your life, I am here for you. No judgement. No unsolicited advice. Just support, empowerment, and validation. I hope to help you on your road to your best self and your highest wellbeing.
