Introduction

Hi there! My name is Amanda, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, Connecticut, and Florida. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, career challenges, and ADHD. Additionally, I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community and provide support to clients who might be struggling with their identity, family problems and self-esteem. I believe that families and relationships come in all shapes and sizes and I am both kink and poly aware. I take a pretty conversational approach to therapy; I don’t have a problem engaging clients, asking questions, and exploring themes to address. I have an affinity for working with introverted clients who are sometimes afraid they will have “nothing” to say, or “don’t know where to start.” Clients who don’t have prior experience with counseling will often tell me that our first session felt a lot easier than they anticipated. Therapy might not be “fun”, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating, frightening, or bereft of humor. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, crafting, watching sci-fi or anime, and playing video games. I also have no problem labeling myself as a Trekkie and named both of my dogs after Star Trek characters (Riker and Ezri, for those of you who might be curious). If you are looking for a nerdy therapist, I definitely fit that bill! It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling, happier life, and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I would be happy to have the opportunity to support and empower you on your journey.
