Introduction

Alyssa Stein, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker with over fifteen years of experience working with clients of all ages. During this tenure, Alyssa worked in a variety of professional environments, honing her approach to treating patients. Her experience includes working on inpatient psychiatric units at both Bellevue Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital in New York City. Alyssa also provided therapy in outpatient mental health programs, schools and residential settings, along with private practice. Alyssa received her Masters at NYU’s Silver School of Social work and has also supervised students, programs, and new therapists pursuing their LCSW accreditation. Alyssa specializes in women’s issues, postpartum assessment and treatment. Her specialties include working with adults 18 and over, with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Alyssa uses a holistic and individualized approach while working with all of her clients. Alyssa provides a comfortable and welcoming space to start exploring the conversation of treatment. Compassion, humor, and creating a strong therapeutic relationship are foundations in her practice. Alyssa offers a unique blend of psychological knowledge, emotional processing, and empathic and intuitive reflection. Alyssa believes in the mind/body connection and uses that in her own practice, both professionally and personally. Working with clients around life changes and transitions is something that Alyssa understands first-hand. Alyssa moved to Louisville in 2015 from New York City when she and her husband were relocated for his job. Since moving to Louisville, they have had two children. Alyssa is passionate about spending time with friends and family, working out, reading, being open to new experiences and traveling.
