Hello there! I’m Alyssa Perez, a dedicated therapist in training with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. Currently pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC) at Touro University, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy. My practice is rooted in evidence-based methods, tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I specialize in supporting clients dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and issues of identity and self-esteem. I also have a strong focus on meeting the needs of BIPOC communities. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-based CBT, Somatic Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Solution-Focused Therapy, my approach is designed to provide personalized care that fits your life. As a second-generation Latina (Puerto Rican/Mexican) raised in San Francisco, I understand firsthand the importance of culturally sensitive care. Diversity and inclusivity are at the heart of my practice, creating a welcoming space for clients from all backgrounds. In our collaborative therapeutic relationship, my goal is to empower you to explore, heal, and grow. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel understood and supported on your journey to well-being. Beyond therapy, I enjoy spending time with my pup, Nova; attending concerts, comedy shows, and sporting events; exploring new cuisines; expressing my creativity through the arts; and traveling whenever I get the chance. These interests give me a holistic perspective on mental health, understanding its connection to our lifestyles and passions. I look forward to helping you thrive. Whether you need short-term support or long-term growth, I'm here for you. Feel free to reach out at alyssa@ihctherapy.org to schedule a consultation or learn more about how we can work together. :)
