My name is Alyssa Floresca and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). For the first six years of my career I worked with victims of crime as an advocate with a local law enforcement agency. I then found my passion for working with children and youth who have experienced trauma through being a counselor at the Children’s Advocacy Center for Denton County for four years. I have been a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) since 2012; and completed the highest level of licensure, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2015, at which time I opened my private practice, Whole Home Counseling, with the hope to truly meet my clients where they are most comfortable - at home. I travel to my clients for sessions or provide teletherapy services. I work with children ages 6-18, college aged students, and 1st responders in the medical, law enforcement, and fire response field who may be struggling with secondary traumatic stress. From my experience I have come to believe that our youngest minds show the greatest strength and resiliency if they simply have an outlet for their emotions and a empathetic guide for how to navigate goals, struggles, triumphs and stress. I practice from a holistic approach that aims to help a client identify and utilize their greatest strengths to achieve wholeness and wellness. Most counseling sessions will utilize components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with some Solution Focused and Systems Theory approaches. I am certified in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and would be happy to discuss if this modality will help you or your child meet their well-being goals. Together I hope we can bring joy and peace to your home.
