Let’s be real; life as a teenager or young adult is complex and hard enough as it is. Add to that the confusion about who you are as a mixed race individual; the frustration of being directly or indirectly labeled “the black girl” in a predominantly white school; or the pressure that comes with being a student athlete trying to balance life on and off the field or court. The weight of it all can become too heavy to carry alone! As a mixed race woman and former Division 1 athlete, I bridge lived experience with clinical training to provide hope, help, and healing for teens and young adults who feel weighed down by the added stress of being mixed race, BIPOC, and/or athletes in an already complex world and phase of life. I take an integrative approach to therapy, utilizing DBT, CBT, IFS, and Polyvagal Theory to treat anxiety, depression, issues related to identity and belonging, low self-esteem, trauma, and phase of life transitions.
