Allison Corman

LICSW Allison Corman, PC
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Behavioral Issues, Borderline Personality,

Introduction

I specialize in short-term, adjunctive individual DBT skills training and other time-limited, focused treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for individuals with PTSD. Clients pursuing work with me are typically looking for DBT skills training to supplement their existing treatment or those who may find attending a traditional DBT skills group challenging, either due to social anxiety, cognitive/behavioral issues, or scheduling difficulties. In addition, I often incorporate strategies from other evidence-based treatments such as CBT, Behavioral Activation, and Motivational Interviewing, and work with clients to personalize treatment strategies, wherever possible. I also offer both daytime and evening appointment and free initial consultations for those interested in learning more. I received my Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and have over 10 years of clinical experience in a broad range of mental health settings including outpatient, residential, forensic, and inpatient environments. Outside my private practice, I'm a staff clinician at McLean Hospital providing DBT skills group training and trauma-focused treatment in the Adult Outpatient Clinic, Outpatient DBT Program, and Outpatient Trauma Clinic.
