Allison Brown

I was born and raised in the Midwest but have lived and worked in New York, Hawaii, and Texas. Throughout my time attending college, I was a military wife, mother, and full-time student, moving around the country every three to four years. I attended Grand Canyon University where I graduated with my masters in Professional Counseling. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and I am involved with the Mid-Texas Counseling Association where I currently serve on the Leadership Board. I have worked in the mental health field for over 10 years in various settings with diverse populations. I began working as support staff at a residential treatment center before working as a case manager for a foster care agency. From there, I ran an independent living center for young adults aging out of foster care, and eventually moved on to working with adults, children, and families, in group practice. These experiences shaped me into who I am today, personally and professionally. My areas of clinical focus include; trauma, anxiety, depression, self-confidence, and stress management. My treatment approaches include; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and Trauma Informed Care. With that being said, I am an integrative counselor with the ability to adapt and modify treatment to best meet the needs of each individual. As a counselor, I work to guide individuals through their personal challenges while helping to ease the emotional burdens they carry. I work to empower my clients to achieve a healthier, and happier mind. I help clients gain a sense of peace, personal insight, and an empowered mindset to move through life and future challenges with confidence. As a counselor, I am not interested in changing you. I am interested in knowing you. With this, I can help you process and adjust the circumstances you can, while accepting and finding peace with those you can’t.
