Introduction

Aliza Shapiro, LCSW, is a licensed psychotherapist in NY, NJ, and FL. Specializing in the treatment of anxiety, OCD, depression, and related disorders, Aliza and her team provide quality care that is goal oriented, evidence based, culturally relevant, and individually inspired. Aliza uses evidence-based approaches including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies to help adults, young adults, and adolescents overcome an array of mental health conditions and navigate challenges of everyday living. Aliza and the clinicians in her practice, Therapy In The City, LCSW PLLC, specialize in the treatment of mood related disorders, as well as ADHD, relationship challenges, emotion dysregulation, parent management training, and life-transitions. Aliza's mission is to help clients both learn how to understand and change patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior, in order to achieve concrete, lifelong goals. Using CBT and DBT modalities, clients learn skills to regulate strong emotions, valiantly face fears, improve relationship dynamics, and break through perceived limitations. Aliza received her degree at Silberman School of Social Work and thereafter was trained in DBT by psychiatrist Dr. Charles Swenson, and in CBT by Harvard psychologist, Dr. David Rosmarin. All clinicians in Therapy In The City equally value genuine care and clinical competence, and strive to help each client find success, meaning, joy, and personal growth in the therapy room, and all contexts of life.
