Aliyah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of Ohio. She currently is a therapist with Rise Counseling Group, which specializes in reducing anxiety and depression among African American women and other Women of Color. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Kent State University and holds two Masters of Education Degrees from Cleveland State University, one in focusing on Adult Learning and Development and the other in Clinical Mental Health. Aliyah has a passion for helping others as shown through her professional and personal experiences. In addition to being a therapist, Aliyah is also an adjunct faculty member at Cuyahoga Community College. Through the course of her career, Aliyah has worked with youth and young adults in a holistic approach to mental health by implementing a client centered approach. Her work has been in a school-based setting, through outpatient work, as well as in higher education in her work with high-risk students. Aliyah is excited to continue walking in her passion through Rise Counseling Group, in which her work can be focused on marginalized populations in a therapeutic environment. Areas of focus for Aliyah include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief, trauma and self-esteem. In her spare time, Aliyah enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She also volunteers through various organizations, all that provide service back to her community.
