My name is Alissa and I am a native to Central PA. I received my B.A. from Messiah College and returned for my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have background in working in a variety of settings, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, outpatient, college campus, and private practice. I am passionate about the mental health field, and strive to provide a safe, trusting, judgement-free environment for all the clients I serve. My focus populations include teens, young adults, and adults with special interest in anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, OCD and trauma. I also have experience working with children, and most commonly use play therapy interventions. My therapeutic approach is rooted in a person-centered perspective, with particular emphasis on technique and interventions from CBT, Systems, IFS, and Emotion Focused therapy. My goal is to meet each client where they are, working to help one identify and establish their own goals and areas for growth. My mission is to help each individual root themselves - to nourish, care for, and tend to their own mental health needs with the hope of rising to a space of growth, confidence, and empowerment. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship, and feel honored to walk alongside each client as they navigate life. Outside of my office, you can find me spending time with family and friends, traveling, spending time behind the camera fueling my photography hobby, or playing fetch with my sweet dog.
