I started my counseling journey in 2011 after graduating from Florida State University with a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling and an Educational Specialist Degree. I spent ten years working for a private non-profit company and was fortunate to have three positions throughout my time there, working with populations of all ages (children, adolescents and adults). I gained experience with family counseling and parenting during my time as an in-home counselor. I gained skills in counseling adolescents with substance use and mental health issues as a Juvenile Services Clinical Coordinator and finally was able to focus on mental health problems including self-esteem, anger management, depression, anxiety, healthy relationships and stress management during my time as a school counselor for middle and high school age students. With each position I have had an opportunity to serve clients I foster connection within the therapeutic alliance, use therapeutic modalities Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy to assist clients to reach their goals and inspire change. I am passionate about each client I work with achieving the changes they are hoping for and to gain skills and tools to improve their quality of life.
