Introduction

Greetings! I am Alfred Thomas, Jr., a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Hypnotherapist dedicated to enhancing the emotional and mental well-being of individuals through collaborative efforts. In 2021, I established Big Oak Counseling and Consulting, LLC, a virtual practice designed to help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, anger management, and trauma. By providing virtual therapy, I have successfully expanded my reach, fulfilling my mission to make mental health services more accessible, particularly within the Black community, where I serve as a Black male therapist. I hold licenses in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Idaho, Vermont, and Washington State, allowing me to offer my services to residents in these areas. My ideal client is someone willing to explore creative and effective methods to alleviate symptoms related to anxiety, depression, phobias, and other emotional health issues. I employ a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to engage both the conscious and subconscious minds, facilitating positive emotional and behavioral transformations. This integrative approach has shown efficacy in addressing PTSD, addiction, grief, and trauma recovery, while Hypnotherapy also proves beneficial for chronic pain management. With over 18 years of clinical experience, I am equipped to assist you in developing effective strategies tailored to your needs. I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation to address any questions and assess our compatibility, as I believe a healthy, transparent relationship is essential for successful therapy.
