Hello! I am so glad you’re here. My name is Alexis, I graduated from The College of Saint Scholastica in 2022 with my Masters of Social Work and am currently practicing as an LICSW for North Country Counseling. For as long as I can remember, I have had a strong passion for helping and supporting others. I understand that as you enter into my office, you’re entering with your own unique history, set of challenges, and needs. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental environment where we can work together to unpack whatever is troubling you and causing distress in your life. My main goals for our time together is to ensure you feel safe, comfortable, heard, understood, and more confident as you reach your identified goals. I am transitioning to working mostly with adults, but still work with and take teens 13-18 years old so please feel free to reach out so see if we can be a good fit! I find fulfillment working alongside and supporting individuals experiencing struggles such anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges (parental, peer, romantic), disordered eating, self esteem issues, trauma, and challenging family dynamics. I work with individuals but encourage support to join as needed and as it is beneficial to treatment. I utilize a wide range of different therapeutic modalities and techniques including but not limited to: person-centered, acceptance and commitment therapy, strengths based, humanistic approach, and solution-focused interventions as well as mindfulness to best fit your needs. I will remind and encourage you to approach with kindness and curiosity as we challenge you, foster growth, and build our therapeutic relationship. My areas of interest include: Anxiety-related Disorder, academic concerns, challenging family dynamics, communication difficulties, coping skills, depression, disordered eating habits, emotion regulation and management, general support, life transitions/adjustments, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), processing of unresolved issues of the past, personality disorders, psychoeducation on mental health diagnosis, struggles, other helpful areas pertinent to therapeutic goals, relationship difficulties, stress management, social skills development, self-esteem, suicidal ideation - self injurious behaviors, trauma-related disorders, talk therapy. There is no situation or struggle too small or too big and right or wrong time to seek support. While it may feel like an intimidating and/or emotional step you are thinking about taking, I believe that reaching out for support is one of the strongest steps can you take for yourself. I’m proud of you for being here!
