Inattention. Depression. Anxiety. Trauma. These are all natural responses to the challenges of life. These challenges are daunting on their own, and can feel insurmountable because of how the world treats gender, race, sexuality and learning differences.
Call me Alex.
I'm a therapist at the intersection of multiple identities (queer, Japanese American, Jewish). I use mindfulness-based therapies to help clients live in the present moment and find liberation from the impact of family history and systemic discrimination. I also help parents connect with their children in ways that feel healthy and aligned.
Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Reflective Parenting we'll work together to find your existing inner strength and heal the parts of yourself that might show up in confusing ways.
This shit is hard. But maybe it doesn't have to be.
