I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. I earned my Master of Science degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas. I spent several years working in an intensive eating disorder treatment center, where I worked with both adolescents and adults in individual and group settings. As a former professional cheerleader and dancer I am especially passionate about helping collegiate/professional athletes and dancers overcome performance pressures, decrease concerns about weight, and build confidence in their abilities to succeed. Since eating disorders are NEVER just about the food, I am committed to helping you identify the underlying issues, including problems with depression, and anxiety, people pleasing tendencies, and crippling perfectionism that may have led to your negative thoughts, and distressing behaviors. I practice from a Health at Every Size (HAES®) Model and Intuitive Eating perspective with all of my clients. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy to assist you in implementing new coping skills and thinking patterns. However, I use an integrative approach, tailored to the unique needs of each client, their goals, and their personality. Regardless of where you are in your life journey, therapy can be beneficial. If you’re ready to work through the challenges that have kept you stuck, I would love to provide the accountability, guidance, and compassion that you need.
