Hello, I'm Alexa Frenn (she/hers/her), a therapist at the Pivot Collaborative Practice. I hold a graduate degree from the University of Chicago: School of Social Service Administration and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am trained in the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) Model and Contextual Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (C-DBT), both through a trauma informed lens. My therapeutic style combines validation, investigation, and a collaborative strengths-based approach. Together, we'll explore your internal experiences and emotions, using tools like breathing exercises, practicing self-affirmations to promote growth, and building capacity to feed each of your emotions. All in all, I take the approach that we are not here to “get rid of our emotions” but rather build a partnership with them. To walk through life with them rather than against them. On a personal note, I hail from the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI (yes, a Packers fan!) and come from a blended family with diverse cultural backgrounds. Described as silly, inquisitive, and chatty, my therapy sessions are a mix of laughter, tears, and reflection, fostering connection and curiosity. I believe therapy is about more than just "feeling better"; it's a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. It can be a space of feeling through the depths of your internal world and building a relationship yourself. I am continually inspired by the resilience of individuals and communities. I look forward to supporting you on your path towards healing and growth.
