Introduction

As a queer and non-binary therapist, I honor each client's lived experience and unique healing journey with a trauma-informed approach and commitment to continuing to grow my understanding of how systemic oppression creates and continues suffering. My top priority is building a welcoming, open, and non-judgmental environment - with a person-centered approach, which means I want to understand what your identity means to you, and to recognize the ways your environment, experiences, and relationships impact your perspective and sense of self. We each experience queerness and gender differently, and I look at each client with a feminist and culturally humble perspective, focusing on individual strengths and goals. My hope is to encourage and empower you as you explore your important roles and relationships, and develop communication and boundary setting skills to support your mental and physical health. I specialize in assisting queer clients with identity development journeys, and supporting transgender and non-binary clients through social, legal, and medical transitions. I am committed to providing an affirming and sex-positive space for LGBTQ+ and gender non-conforming clients, and folks in ethically non-monogamous and kink communities. All of my clients are marginalized, and I use a lens of minority stress to recognize impacts of capitalism, racism, misogyny, and other forms of systemic inequality on clients' mental and physical health and wellbeing. I also conduct assessments in line with WPATH Standards of Care for transgender and non-binary individuals seeking gender affirming procedures, and I write letters of support for clients to give to providers and insurance companies. In these evaluations, I focus on making sure each person is emotionally and financially stable and has a support system prepared to help them recover, and opening up the gates to care by adding any doctor- or insurance-specific requirements to letters as needed. I am an LPCC licensed by the Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board of Ohio. My license number is E.2102415. If you have any questions, you may contact me directly, or the Board at (614) 466-0912 or cswmft.info@cswb.ohio.gov.
