Introduction

I am a licensed professional counselor with over 7 years of experience in the mental health field. I received by master's in counseling from George Mason University and Doctorate in Counselor Education from William & Mary. My clinical focuses include helping clients with trauma and PTSD, treating anxiety and depression, and working with clients with substance use problems. I always work collaboratively with my clients to develop a treatment plan that will be individualized to your unique needs and goals. I also work from a culturally responsive and affirmative model with LGBTQ+ populations, neurodiverse, and BIPOC individuals. As a counselor, I use a person-centered and strengths-based approach. I tend to work with clients on improving relationships, increasing self-awareness, and developing new coping skills. I am certified in offering mindfulness and DBT. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for over 10 years and am strong believer that mindfulness can be a major asset in promoting greater wellness and mental health. I have also received training in eye-movement-sensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidenced-based treatment for trauma which can enhance the recovery and healing process. Mindful Outlook Counseling is dedicated towards fostering an inclusive and socially just practice. Towards that end we also offer a sliding scale fee to make therapy accessible for everyone.
