Helping clients feel safe during therapy is a top priority, creating a perfect environment for change. Long-lasting change takes patience and time to accomplish. However, I understand that hard work is necessary to achieve the timely results clients appreciate, so I am direct in my approach. The office environment is also designed to make you feel comfortable and at home. I practice a holistic approach and am also a certified yoga instructor. Yoga is proven to reduce anxiety and depression, and body work is an important part of trauma work. I can assist clients in learning about different ways to incorporate this into their lives, if they choose. My primary modality is Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I'm Certified in EMDR, and I'm also a consultant, meaning I help train other clinicians to learn and improve their EMDR skills. I offer this in regular 45-60 minute sessions. I also offer EMDR Intensive Processing sessions that last from three to six hours, and even multiple days in a row. This allows people to process all of their trauma in a shortened time-period. EMDR Intensives are offered on weekends and Mondays.
