Introduction

Alesia is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois, pursuing independent licensure, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She has a passion for practicing and teaching holistic wellness. With over five years of experience in the mental health field, she has worked in substance abuse counseling, individual/couples/family counseling, outpatient psychiatric group therapy, and within school districts with children and adolescents. Alesia holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Illinois University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Throughout her personal journey and professional pursuits, Alesia has discovered that practices such as deep breathing, yoga, meditation, music therapy, and dancing are highly effective ways to manage mental health symptoms and stress-related issues. As a certified Dance Fitness Instructor, she has created her own Dance Fitness Program, which she describes as a powerful cathartic practice for herself and her students. Alesia's primary intention is to connect, share compassion, guide, and encourage others to embrace every part of who they are. She aims to empower others in their truths and strengths, believing that self-love and self-care are the building blocks to inner peace. Alesia is dedicated to helping others discover that physical movement is a healing mechanism for releasing stored trauma and stress hormones from the body.
