ALENA ARMSTEAD, MA, PLPC (she/her) "Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it." - Tori Amos I, Alena Armstead, M.A. PLPC, am a graduate of Lindenwood University, having earned my master’s degree in both School and Professional counseling. I am currently working to achieve my LPC licensure (Spring 2025), while working as a School Counselor. I have worked within the urban school setting for over 15 years, and have experience working with individuals who have suffered severe trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and grief. I am extremely passionate about providing guidance, coping skills, and a listening ear to youth and adults in need of emotional and social support. I pride myself in creating a safe space for all individuals, which enables healing as well as personal growth. I am empathic, compassionate, and I am always ready to serve in a non-judgmental way. My approach in achieving personal growth is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy my primary therapeutic approach, but I practice multiple theoretical views; such as Dialectical Behavioral therapy, (mindfulness) and Solution focused brief therapy.
