Meet Aleesha, a dedicated play therapist specializing in children ages 6 to 16. With a heartfelt commitment to nurturing the emotional and psychological well-being of young clients, Aleesha creates an environment where every child feels valued, understood and supported. She understands that childhood can bring a variety of unique challenges, and her approach is tailored to meet each child where they are in their journey. In her sessions, Aleesha establishes an inviting space where clients can explore and process their feelings in a way that feels genuine, authentic and safe. Using the natural language of play, she encourages self-expression and client autonomy enabling young clients to articulate feelings and experiences that may be more challenging to express in more traditional models. Aleesha empowers young clients to build resilience, harness inner strengths and approach life’s challenges with confidence and creativity. She believes that the journey to healing can be both engaging and transformative! In this compassionate and lighthearted atmosphere, Aleesha celebrates achievements—both big and small—reinforcing each child’s sense of self-worth and resilience. Aleesha has served a diverse population(s) of individuals including those working through trauma, self-image, emotional/social dysregulation, attention deficit disorder, impulsive behaviours, abuse/neglect, life transitions, co-dependency, and relationship (peer/family/romantic) dynamics or disruptions. Aleesha’s experience in these challenging contexts has homed in on her ability to provide compassionate and effective support to individuals in complex circumstances. Aleesha believes that involving families in the therapeutic process is essential for lasting change. By fostering open communication and collaboration, she helps families navigate challenges together, building resilience and creating a supportive network for growth and healing. Outside of her practice, Aleesha enjoys exploring the great outdoors, with a particular love for nature and horseback riding. Originally from Canada, she finds joy in connecting with the natural world and believes it can be a powerful source of inspiration and healing.
