Introduction

I am a licensed psychologist in California (license number 34259) and Oregon (license number 3573). I completed my B.A. in Psychology, with departmental honors, as well as my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. As a graduate student, I was trained by leaders in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT), and the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH). I also conducted research on ways to make mental health treatment more effective, efficient, and culturally responsive. I completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System, where I specialized in providing mental health care to Veterans with traumatic stress and health issues such as insomnia and chronic pain. In addition to providing therapy through my private practice, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon (UO). In that role, I conduct clinical psychology research, teach undergraduate and graduate psychology students, and train and supervise students in the UO Psychology Clinic. I strive to help individuals live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I provide mental health treatments that research has shown to be effective, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These time-limited treatments are often helpful for individuals struggling with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, grief, traumatic stress, and health issues such as insomnia and chronic pain. I aim to equip individuals with skills that will help them navigate the difficult circumstances in their lives - considering where they are from, where they have been, and where they want to be. My therapy approach is collaborative, affirmative, culturally responsive, and guided by best practices.
